미국 출신의 만능 엔터테이너 '바브라 스트레이샌드'의 대표적인 히트곡으로 
1973년 발표되어 차트 3주간 정상에 올랐던 노래. 
같은 제목의 영화의 주제가로 쓰인 이 노래는 
이듬해 아카데미 주제가상을 받기도 했는데, 
바브라 스트레이샌드는 이 영화에 주인공으로 출연, 
배우 로서도 큰 인기를 끌었다.
